Baits, Baits and More Baits!

In response to many requests, we are planning soon to start selling bait on site at Kingfishers. With this in mind, last week I travelled up to an Open Day at Chapman's Tackle Shop in Hull. A lot of the big boys were gathering there to exhibit and I felt this was the perfect opportunity to get to talk to bait suppliers face to face and see what they could offer.

A word of caution. The road from Norwich to Hull is about as difficult a one as you will ever come across! Creeping through Lincoln at nine o'clock on a Friday morning is not an experience I would recommend. Especially considering you are following the A16 trunk road. Coming back down the A15 proved to be absolutely no better whatsoever. So be warned!

Never mind, the trip was well worthwhile and it was great to meet up with old mates like Rod Hutchinson and Martin Ford, not to mention that excellent carp angler from Hardy and Greys, Lee Collings. What a nice guy he is and I'm very hopeful of having him back at Kingfishers in the coming summer.

Anyway, back to baits and what do anglers coming to Kingfishers actually want? As you can imagine, the range of baits on offer at Chapman's was absolutely outrageous with many companies advertising their wares. Of course, I guess the majority of anglers will want to be able to buy boilies, pellets, pastes, particles and surface baits. And they will want the best quality at the best prices. Fine, but how about all the other confusions!?

Carp Boily Crushes? Fibre pastes? Boosted Wraps? What on earth are those?

Of course, we'll be stocking various ground baits both for traditional feeding and method feeders. Ditto soft hooker pellets, drilled boilies, banded pellets and, hopefully, pretty much everything the carp boys and the holiday makers will be wanting.

Just don't come expecting maggots!
